AFNOR-certified opticians sell more than glasses
“More than just glasses. This is the slogan of the information campaign launched by AFNOR Certification and the community of 4,500 certified opticians. The aim is to draw consumers’ attention to the quality of service offered by certified stores, because today, the brand and price of a pair of glasses are no longer the only criteria for choosing an optician.
Created in 2010 with the aim of moving beyond isolated and ultimately illegible quality charters, optical quality certification is now the most widespread in France. Issued after a mystery visit followed by a standard audit, it guarantees quality of service at every stage of the optician’s work. Tailored advice, clear warranty conditions, simplified administrative procedures… these are just some of the daily commitments made by these opticians to give their customers the best possible service.
Launch of a dedicated website
From February 15 to the end of the year, opticians’ commitments will be explained on the AFNOR Group’s Facebook account, supported by a new website.
It includes a directory of certified opticians, useful for identifying a trusted professional in your vicinity, whether he or she is independent, or a representative of a major chain, franchise or central purchasing organization. New posters will also be displayed in stores to arouse the curiosity of consumers, who are often perplexed by the abundance of optical products on offer.
“The certification criteria are public, easily accessible on the Internet and in certified stores. We wanted to bring the message as close as possible to consumers, because it’s not always easy to know what’s behind a logo,” says Franck Lebeugle, Managing Director of AFNOR Certification.
