New NF Habitat certification for residential buildings
CERQUAL QUALITEL Certification and CEQUAMI, two bodies mandated by AFNOR Certification, are grouping their brands under a single, more ambitious and clearer certification: NF Habitat.
In response to changes in the sector and to the expectations expressed by professionals in terms of simplification, CEQUAMI and CERQUAL Qualitel Certification have grouped their certifications under the aegis of a single NF application. NF Habitat is a generic standard covering all residential buildings (single-family homes, apartment buildings, student residences, medico-social establishments) and their entire life cycle (construction, renovation and operation).
NF habitat brings clarity to the signs of quality for residential buildings that have appeared in France since 1974. It replaces the following certifications: NF Maison Individuelle, NF Maison Rénovée, NF Logement, Qualitel, Habitat & environnement, Patrimoine Habitat, Patrimoine copropriété…
Focus on quality and sustainability
NF Habitat has been designed to take account of major developments in this sector, and in particular to integrate the notion of sustainable building. Technical quality of buildings (durability, safety, thermal and acoustic performance, functionality), quality services offered by builders and developers, and a responsible management system all contribute to making NF Habitat-certified homes healthy, safe and comfortable.
Combined with the HQE mark, NF Habitat certification will guarantee homes that interact with their surroundings, are energy and cost efficient, and respect the environment.
CEQUAMI and CERQUAL Qualitel Certification have chosen to capitalize on the reputation of NF certification to offer a new quality product for housing. The result of work with AFNOR Certification and all interested parties, it should find its place in the residential building landscape: 150,000 homes are certified every year.
