For several years now, AFNOR has been offering a tailor-made service designed to help professionals in a given sector share their knowledge: regional exchange platforms. Launched barely a year ago, the AFNOR energy platform in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes is already a success. Why not join her?

Since September 2015, energy experts from Auvergne and Rhône-Alpes have been meeting in the Jura region. The aim of these meetings is to help companies apply voluntary standards, read regulatory texts and apply for ISO 50001 certification, the voluntary international standard for energy management.

Led by AFNOR, the regional exchange platform now has eight member companies, including Schneider Electric and Smoby, both of which have ISO 50001 certification, the former for its Grenoble site, the latter for its Jura site. All of them have opted for this benchmarking and best practice sharing facility.

Energy audits, energy savings, switching to renewable energies, fuel switching… Do you want to be ahead of the game and stand out from the crowd? How does it work?

The companies around the table share their problems. They then decide which issues will be discussed at the four meetings organized during the year. These meetings take place on the company’s premises, where participants take it in turns to welcome them.

At each meeting, the companies exchange views on the chosen issue. The presenter (AFNOR) keeps them up to date with the latest standards and regulations. Participants are invited to share their experiences, anecdotes, best practices, etc. Sub-group workshops are also organized. At the end of the day’s work, each participant leaves with a document summarizing the main ideas exchanged and the courses of action to be deployed in their company.
