ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 version 2015: all the solutions for adopting them
After 3 years of work at international level, ISO 9001 (quality management) and ISO 14001 (environmental management) were published virtually simultaneously. “This is a first,” insisted Olivier Peyrat, CEO of AFNOR and ISO Vice-President Finance, on September 25 at the Maison de la Chimie, during the event celebrating the launch.
From revision to transition
All ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 version 2015 standards are available online, in English and French versions. They can also be consulted from the 24 approved centers in France. AFNOR continues to offer face-to-face and distance workshops, in line with the initiatives launched 18 months ago, and throughout the standards revision process. They will help professionals understand how to mobilize their organization around the new standards and move on to the next stage: the transition to a renewed quality and/or environmental management system(s).
As exchanges of experience between users are always fruitful, exchange platforms are available in several regions. With a club spirit and 4 meetings a year, they enable you to join a network of experts to develop new partnerships and establish yourself as a recognized regional player.
Tailor-made training
The AFNOR group has positioned itself as a veritable laboratory for organizational performance. In response to the many questions raised by all users, customized training courses were set up. The Dires d’Experts are appreciated for their effectiveness: 1 day enables you to take stock of new requirements or their evolution, and thus gauge the road ahead for your organization. More in-depth training courses are also organized to address specific issues: taking advantage of version 2015 to simplify your documentation, mastering the fundamentals, building a management system… Nearly 50 training courses are available. The most popular of these will be offered from November 2 to 6 in Lyon, in an à la carte format.
The need for a follow-up audit
The current ISO 9001:2008 and ISO 14001:2004 standards will remain in force until the end of the three-year transition period, when all associated certificates will expire. Companies can wait until the end of this period, but then run the risk of a shortage of auditors due to a peak in demand, as was the case in 2000 for example. Switching to the 2015 version during a follow-up audit is therefore a sensible solution, as is taking an online self-assessment to screen all your practices according to the new standard, or taking a quicker 20-minute online test.
