“Compétitivité et management de proximité : la clé d’un secret bien gardé”, a book by Philippe Fourteau
Most companies have an asset they are unaware of: the commitment and performance of their employees. Demonstrating that managerial quality is vital to competitiveness, and above all that it is neither fanciful nor unattainable, Philippe Fourteau offers in this book all the keys to fully exploiting this well-kept secret.
Why is managerial quality so underestimated in France? Why are local managers, who are responsible for nearly 80% of company employees, so ill-equipped to exploit this wealth? Why is it that many companies, rather than acting on this formidably effective lever, prefer to turn to mergers, reorganizations and cost-cutting to ensure their performance?
Philippe Fourteau answers these and many other questions. It demonstrates, with examples, the extent to which proximity management is a formidable source of competitiveness for companies. One by one, the author removes the obstacles to the implementation of stimulating management, proposing practical, tried-and-tested solutions to overcome them and enhance the quality of local managers.
Contrary to popular belief that it’s impossible to “shake things up” in France, this book provides the means to rapidly increase employee satisfaction and commitment, without overturning existing structures and procedures. Such is the strength of this essential book.
This book opens up a simple path to becoming a great company to work for, offering tremendous practical prospects in terms of development, innovation, psychosocial risk prevention and employee well-being.
