Energy efficiency in industry: AFNOR Energies provides training and advice
Manufacturers know that using less energy means lower production costs. This means improving competitiveness. To achieve this, it is advisable to set up an internal energy management system. A useful framework for designing, implementing and coordinating actions to improve energy performance.
Supervised by the Association Technique Energie-Environnement (ATEE) as part of the energy savings certificate scheme, the Pro-REFEI program offers 3,000 energy advisors in industry support in building their skills in this field, by acquiring the right tools and methods. ” In the current economic climate, a well-trained and well-equipped industrial company will know exactly how to optimize its energy performance, and can quickly save 10-20% on its annual consumption,” stresses Catherine Moutet, head of AFNOR Energies Ingénierie, the AFNOR group’s design office specializing in energy efficiency.
Pro-REFEI, multimodal support for greater energy efficiency
AFNOR Energies Ingénierie is one of the partners in this program, which comprises several training modules: MOOC (since the beginning of September), face-to-face training, individual on-the-job coaching and complementary modules. The design office makes one of its experts available for support and tutoring. AFNOR Compétences, the AFNOR Group’s training subsidiary, will be involved in the “academic” training modules, providing 2 days of classroom training and 2.5 days of individual coaching. ” As a training organization with expertise in management systems and the voluntary standards on which they are based (including energy management, based on the ISO 50001 standard), it was only logical that we should take part. We will support industrial energy managers at our Paris and Lyon sites “explains Anne Müller, Energy Product Manager at AFNOR Compétences.
Less than 300 employees? You pay nothing
The Pro-REFEI program is open to employees of industrial companies with energy skills, or those wishing to acquire them. These include production, maintenance and new works managers, QSE managers, and even company or plant managers. Training costs are reimbursed at 100% for companies with fewer than 300 employees, and 50% for all others, up to a limit of three trainees per company. Here are the access conditions:
- For companies not subject to the mandatory energy audit: to have carried out an energy pre-diagnosis on the trainee’s site before registering for the training course, or at the latest before the face-to-face training course, or to have completed an ISO 50001 audit or certification or any equivalent action with ADEME.
- For companies subject to the mandatory energy audit: to have submitted an energy audit on the ADEME platform before registering for the course, or by the start of the course at the latest, or to be ISO 50001 certified.
