It’s a bestseller in the world of building and electro-technology!
The bible of electricians, the NF C15-100 standard has been reissued by AFNOR Editions in a new version, with parts numbered 1, 7, 8, 10 and 11.
This collection of texts, which provides rules for the design, construction, verification and maintenance of low-voltage electrical installations, dates back to 2002, and had been amended five times.
These remain valid until August 2025.
It was time to revise the whole thing, to take account of technological developments, changes linked to new usage patterns and, on a European and international scale, developments in CENELEC and IEC harmonization documents, always with the aim of ensuring the safety of people, animals and property.
This has now been achieved, under the aegis of the AFNOR U15 commission, which includes some forty professional bodies.

Rules for charging electric vehicles from a building

Numerous changes have been made to the previous corpus, and new subjects have been introduced into the series: energy efficiency, installations for powering electric vehicles, very low voltage lighting, etc.
For example, with regard to electric vehicles charged from a building, NF C15-100-7-722 specifies that a dedicated circuit is required to supply the socket dedicated to recharging or the charging point, as well as shutters for normal recharging, and that each recharging point must be protected individually by a 30 milliamp residual current device.
Here are the new texts available in the AFNOR collection, dated August 2024:
