AFNOR and its member companies have organized the first edition of the Trophées Or Normes 2018. The Trophées were presented at an evening event on October 18, 2018, in Paris. The Gold Standards Trophies were awarded to organizations that have used one or more voluntary standards as part of their company’s market development to design/manufacture a product or service.Discover the winners of this first edition.
Founded in 2013 by Bruno Saudemont, the company has worked with Quincamp-based APPRONOR to develop a fire-protection blanket that outperforms the norm: it can withstand temperatures of up to 900°C instead of the usual 400°C, and is impervious to chemicals, water, acids and fumes. Last but not least, this cover comes with a lifetime storage guarantee.
Prev Sécurité 62 developed its cover based on the NF EN 1869 standard. Since then, a number of variations have been developed: a fire-resistant pouch capable of withstanding 1,200°C, a protective pouch for lithium-ion batteries, a billet curtain, and so on. These products are of particular interest to the aeronautical, industrial and construction sectors, as well as to museums, which are always keen to find solutions to protect their works of art.
Nomade Aventure, a tour operator founded in 1975, creates tailor-made trips for people in search of adventure. Since 2007, the company has been committed to publishing on its website 100% of the reviews submitted by its traveling customers. But in the absence of an authoritative method for managing online reviews, and faced with growing public doubts about the credibility of reviews expressed on the Internet, Nomade Aventure wanted to go one step further.
The company has been enthusiastically involved with AFNOR since 2012, in the commission to invent a voluntary standard in this area. The standard was first introduced in 2013 to compensate for the lack of any legal text, before the arrival of an article in the French Law for a Digital Republic, whose requirements were in fact directly inspired by the standard.
The countries of the Middle East are increasingly faced with water shortages, with major infrastructure management requirements. The Suez project in Jordan demonstrates the company’s ability to draw on international management standards and develop innovative practices to manage the assets of two long-term contracts (25 years), DAOM (water production – network + plants) and Samra Operation & Maintenance (wastewater).
Two vital projects for Jordan.
Suez has deployed a proactive process that enables its customer to make strategic asset decisions, and balance risks, costs and opportunities. The company based its approach on the NF ISO 55001 standard for asset management. When maintenance costs become too high, Suez aims to replace all aging assets with higher-performance, more efficient equipment.
Founded in 2011, Apilab specializes in environmental biomonitoring using bees. The company offers an innovative and constructive approach to companies and local authorities, complementing traditional measurement campaigns.
Biomonitoring with bees provides qualitative information on the effects of pollutants and their impregnation of the environment, which sheds light on the quantitative results obtained with measuring equipment and dispersion models.
The Apilab method is now recognized in a voluntary standard published in 2017, entitled XP X43-909. The results also enable us to monitor the health of bees nationwide, and to play an active role in the search for the causes of pollinator extinction.
